Located north of Fuerteventura, in an interior area belonging to the municipality of La Oliva, is the town of Lajares, on volcanic lands and desert landscapes.
Lajares is the starting point of different routes that lead to nearby volcanoes, such as Montaña Colorada, Calderón Hondo or Caldera Encantada.
The saint and sign of this town are the two windmills that are located in the upper district, near the church of San Antonio.
