Parque Nacional de Garajonay

Declared a National Park in 1981, Garajonay is also a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site, cataloged by Unesco in 1986.

With almost four thousand hectares of extension, the Garajonay Park is part of all the municipalities of the island, since it extends throughout the center of the island of La Gomera.

Its green and humid image, with beech trees, holly trees, vineyards and heather covered with mosses, is the benchmark of a park in which the Canary monteverde occupies 85% of its territory.

A paradise for hikers, the Garajonay National Park is the fifth national park in Spain that receives the most visits annually, after the Teide, Picos de Europa, Timanfaya and Sierra Nevada.
