About Arure

Arure is a small town that belongs to Valle Gran Rey in La Gomera. This small population center was the old capital of the municipality, it should be noted that Arure has an interesting architecture that shows the traditional architecture of the island. The houses are made of stone and is a clear example of the constructive variants that occur in this area of the island, facing south to make the most of the number of hours of sun.

From Arure there are many hiking trails that run through many points of the island, and in the vicinity of Arure you can visit the viewpoint of Cesar Manrique, an impressive place that gives an incredible panoramic view of all Valle Gran Rey. This viewpoint has a restaurant with breathtaking views and was designed by the famous Canarian architect.

You will notice a lot of attention as from this viewpoint located in Arure you can see the curious formation of the plots located on the slopes of the ravines that reach the valley.

Arure is a quiet place, without tourist agglomeration and an ideal place to start any excursion to any point of the island.
