Balneario de Azuaje

Despite being abandoned for more than 50 years, Balnerio de Azuaje is a picturesque place that deserves to be visited. The volcanic nature of the Canary Islands s has made many springs with outstanding mineral-medicinal properties thanks to the composition of the waters of iron, silicates, carbonic gas, hydrosulphuric etc.

Coinciding with industrial development at the end of the 19th century, medicinal spas began to gain popularity, thanks to which in Moya the Balneario de Azuaje was created in 1868.

The Balneario de Azuaje is located in a natural environment of great beauty, next to a water passage, the creation of this place improved access to there, was built on viaduct to save the canyon of Azuaje.

Unfortunately the Balneario de Azuaje closed in 1938, but today there are ruins that show the splendor that this part of the island experienced. The visit is interesting because the surroundings have an impressive beauty, you could follow the course of the ravine and enjoy some routes in the middle of nature.
