Barranquillo de la Punta de Arucas

The Punta de Arucas is a small ledge located to the north of the town, very close to the place known as Rosa Silva. La Punta or barranquillo of the Punta de Arucas has a terrace that faces a cliff with an ocean drop of about thirty-five meters in height. According to the experts, the balcony is a platform of marine abrasion that formed on the lava of the volcano of the Cardones mountain and therefore it is possible to see marine sediments, fossils.

The area of Punta de Arucas is bumpy, full of routes, impossible formations, caves, islets and tunnels which gives this natural environment a particular beauty.

The first thing that can draw the attention of the barranquillo de Arucas are the arches where the lava flow is perfectly distinguished, which ended up solidifying and giving rise to these forms and that the erosion continues to mold.

There is a path that runs along a lot of the coastline of the tip of Arucas, this road crosses the ravine and offers spectacular views of the entire rugged coastline, the path passes through Fuentes del Guincho, arriving at a cave of the same name and going through a cleft called the Puntón.
