Centro de Interpretación del Garoé

About Centro de Interpretación del Garoé

The Garoé Interpretation Center is located in the municipality of Valverde, in El Hierro. The Garoé tree was a lime that, they say, cried fresh water. The ancient bimbaches took advantage of its water keeping it by means of a complex system of reservoirs and canalizations. This Interpretation Center not only tells us the history of the Garoé tree, but also explains what horizontal rain is and how this tree relates to the island of El Hierro.
