El Caletón

Garachico is one of the most charming villages on the island of Tenerife, it has some charming corners and some very picturesque bathing areas where you can enjoy fantasizing days. One of the most recognizable places in Garachico and no doubt pride for its population is El Caletón, which is an area of natural pools where you can dive.

The Caletón consists of several pools that were created in the wake of the eruption of the Trevejo volcano that took place in 1706. This volcano was responsible for destruction of the port of Garachico, the most important of the island until the eruption took place, in turn I create these natural pools that today delight the inhabitants of the municipality and visitors.

The solidification of the lava has formed curious shapes in the area of the Caletón, has points to be able to throw the towel, area of showers and wardrobe, it is accessed through the walkways and stairs.
