Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

The Patroness of Buenavista del Norte, population of the island of Tenerife, is Our Lady of Remedies, in honor of the Virgin there is the Church that bears his name. The temple is located in the heart of the town, in the square of the same name and was built between 1513 and 1518 although over the years it has received several modifications, expanding and modifying certain aspects.

Perhaps the most delicate moment of the Church of Our Lady of Los Remedio s was in 1996 when a fire left the property quite affected, part of the historical-artistic heritage was lost the date was the most important of Buenavista del norte.

The image of Our Lady of Los Remedios dates from 1733 and was replaced a year after the church suffered the fire by a carving by the Cádiz-born artist Luis González Rey.

The church presents in its interior three naves that are separated by semicircular arches that, in turn, rest on columns and pilasters of Tuscan capitals.

The church also houses a main chapel and 5 side chapels, especially the main portal that is built in stone and framed by Corinthian columns.
