Iglesia de San Fernando Rey

In Santiago del Teide you will find the Church of San Fernando Rey, close to the well-known Casa del Patio. The church is the most outstanding religious building of this municipality located in the southern part of Tenerife.

The Church of San Fernando Rey was sent to build in the year 1679 by don Fernando del Hoyo Solorzano who was then the Lord of the Valley. It should be noted that inside you can find religious images of great value and dating from the eighteenth century, another element that characterizes this temple is the dome of half orange.

The church of San Fernando is a single-nave construction, with a rectangular plan, with a whitewashed facade and the bell tower is on the left. Standing in front of the church, in the square, you could see a beautiful balcony made of wood, a clear example of typical Canarian architecture. Next to the church you can see the building of the parish house.
