About Mirador de Bascos
The Bascos Viewpoint offers privileged views of the coast of the island of El Hierro. Located on the Arenas Blancas Beach, in La Frontera, it is a perfect place to access the semicircle of the crter of the island.
From this enclave you can see the capital of La Frontera but you can also have a spectacular view of much of the Gulf Valley.
It is also possible to have a great view of the village of Sabinosa, which curiously receives this name due to the abundance of junipers in the area. The views show a cleft with a slope of up to 1500 meters and with a width that can reach 15 kilometers. The viewpoint allows not only to see this valley, but, in clear and clear days, allows its visitors to see the island of La Palma, which stands out above the blue of the Atlantic Ocean.
The viewpoint is a circle of rock of volcanic origin delimited by wooden fences and separating it from an imposing precipice. Trees twisted by the wind and lichens of many colors end up giving the place a halo of magic to invite meditation and rest.
Although it is a rugged area. The viewpoint can be reached by a wide piece of land. No doubt this viewpoint offers the best view of the island. You can arrive with the reference of the town of La Frontera, passing through El Sabinal go to the Hermitage of the Kings, from where there is a road and after a few kilometers you reach this impressive location.
