About Mirador del Rio
One of the most impressive viewpoints that can be seen on the island of Lanzarote is the viewpoint of the Rio, located in the town of Haría The first thing that catches your attention when you get there are the breathtaking views where you can spot the neighboring and picturesque Isla de la Graciosa.
The Mirador del Río is located at a height of 480 meters, only above in Lanzarote is Peñas del Chache , and you can see a spectacular marine print. The viewpoint was created by the artist César Manrique, what he did was to turn an old military position of artillery into a new place, perfect to enjoy unforgettable panoramas.
It has the name of El Río because it is known as the strait that separates the island from La Graciosa de Lanzarote.
The viewpoint of El Río has an amphitheater that surprises visitors built in stone and serves as a general reception. Manrique wanted to hide the spectacular landscape that is on his back to keep the visitors in suspense until the last moment.
You can also see the island of la graciosa, also Montaña Clara and Alegranza, in addition to Roque del Oeste and the Risco de Famara.
