About Museo Atlántico Lanzarote CACT
The Atlantic Museum is a project by Jason deCaires Taylor. What mainly differentiates this museum from others is that it is not located underwater, with a conservationist approach and whose objective is to create a large-scale artificial reef with sculptural works.
The Museo Atlántico is submerged 12 meters deep and is attached to the south coast of the island of Lanzarote, specifically it is situated in the Las Coloradas Bay and covers an area of about 2500 square meters.
The museum is made up of 12 impressive facilities built with materials that respect the environment and designed to adapt to endemic marine life. The submerged works try to transfer awareness about the use of natural resources.
