About Refugio de Altavista
The Altavista Refuge is located at more than 3200 meters above sea level and is a resting place for all those mountaineers and hikers who choose Teide strong> to make routes. The refuge was originally built in 1892 and can accommodate up to 54 people and has toilets, kitchen and a nurse, since 1950 is owned by the Island Council of Tenerife. In 2007 it was completely renovated and modernized.
It is a place of rest for people who dare to visit some of the most beautiful paths of the island of Tenerife. From here you can enjoy the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets of the Archipelago. It is curious that when the sun rises the shadow of Teide is reflected in the ocean, adding more beauty if possible to this phenomenon.
The reservation of the Altavista Refuge is limited to one night's stay and users who have booked can heat food, liquids in the kitchen and sleep in one of the available beds.
