There are viewpoints in the palm whose objective is to offer visitors impressive views of the island by day, the coast, nearby islands, the sea or
the impressive ravines, but the Astronomical Viewpoint Volcán de San Antonio aims to make visitors admire the immensity of the universe.
The Mirador Astronómico San Antonio Volcano is located in the southern part of the island of La Palma, in the Cumbre Vieja , in the municipality of Fuencaliente. With the light of day you can see the whole slope of the volcano with its crater, at night it is a window to the constellations of the universe, the absence of light pollution makes the sky show itself in all its splendor.
The viewpoint is located at an altitude of about 633 meters above sea level, it has a visitor center where you can find information about the constellations.
The viewpoint also has some vertical stones that mark the changes of the season, the solstices and the equinoxes, there is also a description of the link of the Sun with the ancestors that inhabited the Island of La Palma, the Awara.
