It is a rock formation in the shape of a crater, it is called "El Rayo" because it seems as if a lightning bolt fell in that place although it is probably caused by the collapse of a cave. It is very close to the Buenavista lighthouse. You have to leave the vehicle next to the lighthouse and follow the path to the right bordering the sea, about 100 meters approx. you find this curious place.

Teno Rural Park is located in the Teno Massif, occupying the northwest area of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). The park sits on a massive volcanic antigo, occupying heights from sea level to the summits. The vegetation of the park varies according to the altitude, highlighting the laurel forests on the highest peaks.

The Teno Massif is one of the three rock formations (paleoislas) that gave rise to Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). It is located in the northwestern part of the island, between the municipalities of Santiago del Teide, Los Silos, El Tanque and Buenavista del Norte.
