The coastal neighborhood of Santo Domingo is located in the municipality of La Guancha and is named after the Benedict Santo Domingo de Guzmán, in it is the Church of Santo Domingo. The Hermitage of Our Lady of the Coromoto located in La Guancha is one of the most prominent places in the municipality. It should be noted that the hermitage is dedicated to Our Lady of Coromoto, who is the patron saint of Venezuela and is located in the busy neighborhood of La Guancha de Abajo in the Plaza de Venezuela . The temple is located on a plot that was donated by a neighbor who had emigrated to Venezuela in the middle of the 20th century.

The Hermitage of Our Lady of the Coromoto was built in 1957, among the outstanding elements is the main altar that makes an imitation of the Gothic style and where the Virgen del Coromoto.
