The SS America was a luxurious transatlantic built in 1940 by the United States Lines shipping company. It was the largest passenger ship in the United States of its time. It had many names from its construction until its shipwreck in 1994. With 49 meters of length less than the RMS Titanic, it was one of the largest and most luxurious ships in North America.
