4. Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias

5. Iglesia de San Agustín

The Church of San Agustín is a temple belonging to the population of Icod de los Vinos in Tenerife, it is declared of interest patrimonial and is located in the urban center of the municipality. The church of San Agustín belonged to the first convent that was founded in Icod by the order of Los Agustinos. The temple dates from the year 1585 and you can see the two family stands on either side of the entrance door, something unique and exclusive in the temples of the Canarian archipelago. There are two altarpieces, one of Baroque style and another of Rococo style that can be seen inside the church, although not at the head of the temple.

7. Basílica Nuestra Señora de Candelaria

The coastal town of Candelaria is located 20 kilometers from the capital Santa Cruz, one of the most visited and charming towns that can be found in the island. In Candelaria it is possible to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria, one of the most beautiful in Tenerife and where the image of the Virgen de Candelaria can be found which was found in 1390, according to the legend, by aboriginal Guanche shepherds.

The Church of San Gregorio is one of the most interesting ones in Telde. It is a Neoclassical parish that was realized by Diego Nicolás Eduardo in 1848, when it was founded, it is located in the square of the same name in the urban center of Telde.

It has an important artistic representation in its interior, many neoclassical altarpieces by the great Canarian painter and restorer José Arencibia Gil who lived in the first half of the 20th century.

These works guard a sculptural collection of notable relevance, among them the image of San Gregorio Thaumaturgo, which was carved by José Luján Pérez. Also noteworthy is the size of Our Lady of Sorrows, which was made at the end of the 19th century by Silvestre Bello.

The Church of San Gregorio also has a small museum, in the collection of objects that has to be highlighted some of great historical value, for example a reliquary that preserves challenges of St. Anthony Mary Claret, the staff and miter of Bishop Codina is also part of the treasures that are kept behind the walls of this temple.

9. Iglesia de San Marcos Evangelista

In the town of Agulo on the island of La Gomera is the Church of San Marcos Evangelista. It was previously a chapel and was founded in 160, the initiative, as in many of the churches of the island, arises from the residents of the population interested in having a place of worship. Until 1735 it was not called a church, after some works that transformed it into a more complete temple. At the beginning of the 20th century the church was demolished and rebuilt, giving rise to the building that can be visited today. The person in charge of the last remodeling was the architect Antonio Pintor who designed a Neo-Gothic style building that gave rise to the way we know it today.

Among the remarkable sculptures that can be found in the temple is the image of the Virgen de La Merced and of course San Marcos Evangelista. Located in the nerve center of Puerto del Rosario, is the Nuestra Señora del Rosario parish church. Temple history begins in 1812 when the vice-consul of Fuerteventura, James Miller as he was called, Diego Miller Seroton, requested a license to the bishopric for the creation of a chapel or a place to pray. A few years passed the Bishop undertook to build a new temple and finally it was in the 1920s when the church works began in what is now known as Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

Due to the successive plagues and famines that devastated the island the project was modified, in principle it was had intention to build two bell towers wavering a curved gable but finally it was rejected.

Until many years after the creation of the Board for the Enlargement and Repair of the Temple in 1929 the works that ended in 1932 were not retaken. The temple has a rectangular plan , of a single ship and roof to two waters and the plebistry differentiated in height to 4 waters.

The Interior is covered by a wooden structure, the altarpiece is a reproduction of what was previously.The central part is occupied by the image of Our Lady of the Rosary of the 19th century, there are other images like San José with the child and San Luis de Gonzaga. The church was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1990.
