In San Miguel de Abona it is possible to visit a very interesting environment, in particular hiking enthusiasts can reach the Fuente de Tamaide through a route of about 3.5 kilometers long and lasting about 2 hours. Throughout the journey that leads to the source of Tamaide you can discover part of the ethnographic heritage related to the use of water resources in the area, as well as popular architecture and even archaeological sites.
To the Fuente de Tamaide it is possible to arrive through an asphalted road that starts from the Cruz de Piedra or Cruz de la Morena, this path runs between ravines, tabaibas, jable orchards, houses and even by an old volcanic lava pahoehoe with whimsical shapes that are called lavas cordadas.
The Fuente de Tamaide is located on the left side of the ravine, at the foot of a red ocher and under a basaltic wash, on a pumice deposit that was used to create a cavity for can collect water, also has a small trough for animals to hydrate.
