1. Safari Kudu
In the 70s a zoo that received the name of Safari Kudo was opened in La Laguna, specifically it was opened between 1977 and 1978. It is not known with certainty but it is He thinks he was a wealthy German citizen who wanted to fulfill his dream of having a zoo with the most exotic animals.

The problem could have come when the animals that arrived from Africa and did not adapt to the temperatures reached in La Laguna, falling by below 10 degrees, although it is not known if that was the real reason.

2. Bunker de El Pulpito

In an area close to Los Rodeos, where the Tenerife North Airport is located, there is an abandoned bunker that was built under the threat of a possible attack during World War II by allies. It is known as the Bunker of El Pulpul and was an underground military complex that served as a powder keg and also housed fuel and military equipment.

The islands were under US threat during the war and for that reason the island was equipped with several bunkers to be able to repel possible allied attacks although fortunately they were not taken to use.

The Buker of El Púlpito has dimensions of about 1400 square meters, with well-fortified and camouflaged military galleries. At present it is abandoned and very few people know the existence of this place that is part of the history of the island.

3. El Esqueleto

Already part of the daily life of the inhabitants of Matanza de Acentejo, a rickety construction, without walls, whose structure is that, the closest thing to a skeleton. The Skeleton of the Slaughter is located in the area known as Puntillo del Sol, is one of the places in the municipalities with impressive views and from where you can see the island of La Palma.

The Skeleton is practically hidden in a ravine behind several tall buildings. A rather controversial place to hide the residents a stunning view of the sea and asking for years to demolish, but there it goes. It was a hotel project that was made in the 70s and that did not end up being located in a protected area, it receives the name of Costa Acentejo Protected Landscape, two buildings of 15 plants in a state of ruin .

4. Castillo de Mesa del Mar

On the coast of Tacoronte, past the tunnel of the Mesa del Mar and when you can not continue on foot you will find the one known as Castillo del Mar, an old abandoned building that witnesses the incessant beating of the sea. Located between cliffs is this tower building, which far from being a castle was a recreational estate of a wealthy Tacoronte landowner, is also known by the name of Castillete de Guayonje or the Castillo by Óscar Domínguez.

It is located at the mouth of the Guayonje gully and is currently abandoned, and over time has been deteriorating. It belongs to the City Council of Tacoronte and there are several projects on the table for its reform but nowadays it is a ghostly place waiting to be declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

6. Parque los Virgueritos (o Parque el Dragón)

7. Cueva del Hielo
Caves

Volcanic eruptions often cause incredible formations, thanks to which there is the Ice Cave in the Cañadas of the Teide in the middle Teide National Park The insulating character of the volcanic tubes causes ice to be conserved inside when the area is hit by a storm and months after it causes water to remain in the solid state, the rainwater that filters through the cracks the winter freezes and that months later it still remains frozen.

The Ice Cave is located at an altitude of 3,300 meters and has a dimension of about 50 meters in length, having one of the highest sources of the National Park strong>. It is curious to note that the cave has water throughout the year and that it is kept frozen thanks to the isolation of the materials.

This cave was known for centuries and from there the ice that was consumed in the past was removed and it was a luxury item. With beasts and with some long stairs they acceded to the interior of the cave and removed blocks of ice that were taken to the Puerto de la Cruz. It is situated near the Altavista Refuge.

8. Mirador El Emigrante
Viewpoints

The population of the Canary Islands have had times of much emigration, due to the lack of opportunities of yesteryear in the archipelago. In Garachico, a monument was built in honor of those people who left the island in search of better opportunities or with the intention of leaving to go back and start their own businesses. In 1990 the call was inaugurated as Mirador el Emigrante to honor the people who left the island with the intention of having a better job and better future prospects. The initiative comes from the Chicharros Mensajeros association.

The Mirador El Emigrante is located in the Risco Partido, within the municipality of Garachico and there is a monument in it created by the artist Fernando Ramos, is a human figure made of bronze about two meters high that is on a stone base, also about 2 meters and with a tombstone that refers to the emigration.

From the viewpoint you can see an overview of the population, and it is possible to clearly see the two lava languages of the eruption of the Black Sand in 1706.

9. Lago Martiánez
Swimming Pools Complex

The Lago Martiánez is an aquatic complex located in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) in the area of Martiánez, which is composed of different pools and a large central artificial lake. In total, the leisure complex has 100,000 m2. in which the swimming pools are linked with gardens, restoration areas and hammocks, a design in which the volcanic stone so characteristic of the north of the island has special relevance.

Located in what were formerly the "Llanos de Martiánez", an area of beaches and puddles, the design came from the hand of the well-known Lanzarote architect César Manrique.

10. Edificio de Mesa Mota
The Mesa Mota building has been abandoned for more than 10 years and is located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna and is owned by the municipality. Mesa Mota is located near the recreational area of the same name and from it you can have an amazing view of La Vega from La Laguna.

As often happens with this type of abandoned property, it was built without knowing exactly what it was going to be used for although it was rumored that it would be destined for the creation of a research institute on diversity in the Macaronesia. Other uses to which we wanted to allocate Mesa Mota was a residence for athletes or a congress center of the University of La Laguna. None of these projects were carried out and nowadays it is an abandoned place and mercenary of vandals.
