About Bunker de El Pulpito
In an area close to Los Rodeos, where the Tenerife North Airport is located, there is an abandoned bunker that was built under the threat of a possible attack during World War II by allies. It is known as the Bunker of El Pulpul and was an underground military complex that served as a powder keg and also housed fuel and military equipment.
The islands were under US threat during the war and for that reason the island was equipped with several bunkers to be able to repel possible allied attacks although fortunately they were not taken to use.
The Buker of El Púlpito has dimensions of about 1400 square meters, with well-fortified and camouflaged military galleries. At present it is abandoned and very few people know the existence of this place that is part of the history of the island.
