On the island of La Graciosa there is a small population center called Pedro Barba, it is the second inhabited spot on this island located north of Fuerteventura. It is also known as Casas de Pedro and is the northernmost inhabited area of the Canary Islands and the closest to the Iberian Peninsula.
It is worth mentioning that it was the first settlement on the island and it is known that it was formed in 1880 along with a fish salting factory. Today it is more a tourist destination and there are many canaries that have this place as a holiday destination.
