Located on the south side of the island of El Hierro, El Pinar is, because of its location, the southernmost municipality in all Spain El Pinar, rises above the Risco de los Herreño s, and enjoys a privileged position facing the Atlantic, in front of a gulf whose littoral area is protected and is known as the Mar de las Calmas due to the calm character of its waters. There are several areas of interest that are found throughout the municipality, such as Faro de Orchilla, the most west of Spain and which is considered until the fifteenth century as "the lighthouse of the end of the world".
La Restinga, on the other hand, is a small fishing village that has the characteristic of being the population nucleus further south of Spain. El Jual is another area whose nature is striking due to its high cliffs and the presence of petroglyphs dating from the time of the bimbaches, local aborigines.
