About Calle San Agustín
The street San Agustín is another of those pedestrian streets that run through the historic center San Cristóbal de La Laguna which was declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1999.
In the Calle San Agustín you will find some of the most emblematic buildings of the city, for example the Casa Salazar, which dates from 1664 and which is currently the seat of the Diocese of the Nivarian Diocese. Other buildings that can be found along the street are the Convent of San Agustín or the Church and Hospital Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, both constructions declared Assets of Cultural Interest.
The Museum of History and Insular Archive which is located in the Lecaro Palace there are also other buildings such as the Casa de Montañés, Consejo Consultivo de Canarias or House of the Jesuits, whose construction dates back to 1733.
