Another of the unique constructions that can be seen in the town of Tazacorte is the Casa del Almirante Díaz Pimienta, it is a house that was built in the century XVI where the Almirante de Indias was born. Francisco Díaz Pimienta in the year 1594.
The Almirante Francisco Díaz Pimienta was a soldier who led the conquest of the archipelago of Santa Catalina and San Andrés in the Caribbean western defeating the English. Some studies point to the Admiral as one of the possible introducers of the banana plant in the Canary Islands.
The Casa del Almirante Díaz Pimienta is in the municipality of Tazacorte, it is a house that has all the typical elements of Canarian popular architecture, with L-shaped plant. The facade of the house stands out for the balcony that occupies the entire facade and turns the corner. The access to the house is in the back of the property, through a wall that surrounds the patio.
