About Casona de Monteverde

La Casona de Massieu Van Dalle Monteverde and Ponte is a house that was built in the 17th century by the hand of Nicolás Massieu Van Dalle and his wife Ángela de Monteverde Y Ponte. You can see in the lintel a shield of the family carved in marble with the arms of Massieu, Van Dalle, Monteverde and Ponte, dates from the 17th century.

Architecturally La Casona de Monteverde and has an elongated rectangular floor plan, featuring a side patio with an exterior stone staircase with up to a wooden exterior balcony that rests on the right feet.

Currently the construction is property of the Island Council of La Palma, the building was restored and has the management shared with the Tazacorte City Council. It is a must-visit place and is located in the historic center of the town, in the well-known neighborhood of El Charco. It is also worth mentioning the crenellated portal of carved stonework and typical elements of the Canarian construction.
