Ermita Nuestra Señora de la Concepción

The municipality of Breña Alta has a temple that dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, is located on the hill leads to the viewpoint of the Concepción. At first the hermitage was a small Marian shrine erected around 1558, it was formed by a single nave.

The Hermitage of Our Lady of La Concepción has a large set of Canarian-style paintings belonging to the 17th and 18th centuries, the Archangels Uriel and Miguel, Our Lord of the Fall, which is a processional sculpture of the same theme that is venerated in the church of San Francisco de Así, in the capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma.

It is also worth mentioning that the silver hermitage is represented by the Silver Chalice that was made in Havana in the year 1659 and that It was donated by Captain Manuel de Almeida, pilot of the Indies.
