Iglesia de Santa Úrsula

One of the most prominent places in the city of Santa Úrsula is the parish of the municipality. In 1587 the mayor of Santa Úrsula, Alejo Pérez ceded some land for the building to be built, with a single condition that the church was erected in devotion to Santa Úrsula, name of her own daughter.

The Parish of Santa Úrsula is located in the main square, since it was founded this point of the town has been witnesses of proclamations, proclamations, many celebrations and one of the points most active of local life.

The building of the church has had many reforms and extensions, as the city was growing and it was necessary to have more space. The church is a simple construction of a nave in the form of a Latin cross, with a smaller chapel and two lateral ones, separated by blue stone arches from Acentejo, with a millstone facade, except for the cover and top part of stonework more refined and finiquitada in a stone cornice to two waters and lateral bulrush. The current bell tower replaced the old one in 1915, thus modernizing the temple.

Among the images it houses is the Virgen de la Concepción, Santa Rita by Fernando Estévez, the Immaculate in addition to American goldsmithing among other pieces.
