About Lavaderos y molinos de Chacaica

This enclave is listed as Bien de Interes Cultural (BIC) and Ethnological Site, in the neighborhood of San Pedro de Arriba, in the upper part of the historical helmet of the municipality. Its construction is related to the expansion of the municipality, connecting with the Valle de la Orotava through the Caldera de Pedro Gil.

In this location there are also three mills -the Arriba or Trasmuros, the Medio and the Abajo- formed by several cylinders superimposed and decreasing in diameter, made of masonry, following a cylindrical stepped shape.

There is also a fountain on the corner between Chacaica Street and Nazaret Street. It is a rectangular stack with five jets, one of which represents the head of a lion.
