About Palacio de Nava
The Palacio de Nava is located in one of the busiest areas of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Plaza del Adelantado. It is a superb building that can be seen in its facade both baroque and neoclassical and mannerist elements. The Palacio de Nava began to be built in 1585 after the mandate of the councilor of Tenerife, Tomás Grimón, the importance and the richness of this building have meant that it is currently declared Well of Cultural Interest with monument category from 1976.
The facade of the Palacio de Nava is covered with stonework, with cushioning at both corners. The façade is topped by a balustrade with a central crown that hides the traditional Arabic tile roof. At the entrance of the palace you can see the shield of the Grimón in stone on the frieze, surrounded by paired communes, Corinthians on plinth with decoration in the shape of a rhombus.
It should be noted that on the second floor you can see the balconies of rejería with the stone base on S-shaped dogs and more elements that enhance the beauty of this building. The interior of the palace also has two patios, marble stairs among other elements.
