La Arena beach is a beach located in the municipality of Tacoronte north of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). With black and fine sand of volcanic origin, it is under some cliffs. It offers calm waters sheltered from marine currents.
La Arena beach is accessed on foot by a small tunnel from the coastal town of Mesa del Mar. It has all kinds of services and an attractive promenade. Besides the beach, the beauty that the cliffs bring to the landscape make it a tourist attraction. In 2011 it lost the blue flag that had been granted to it, being recovered again in 2012. Currently the beach is closed to the public due to risk of detachment (09/2014), this closing has already ended just in May 2015, which is why can access with total security.
