Since 2003 an imposing building is located in one of the busiest points of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is the auditorium of Tenerife that has the name Adán Martín. This magnificent construction is located on the avenue of the constitution, it is the work of the famous Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, at first glance you can see its unmistakable style resembling skeletons or animal forms.
The building is on a plot of about 23,000 square meters and the building itself has dimensions of about 6400 square meters.
What first draws the attention of the Auditorio Adán Martín is the envelope that seems to levitate over the top of the auditorium, which reminds you a bit of the Casa of the Sydney Opera House, why he called the capital of the island as La Sidney del Atlantico.
The Tenerife Adán Martín Auditorium is divided into 2 rooms, one is the Symphonic Hall which is crowned by the dome and which has an amphitheater with capacity for 1616 people. The second of the rooms is called Chamber Room is a little smaller and can accommodate 422 people.
Top its interior with the one of about 1200 square meters and from where it is possible to see the immensity of the sea.
TEA corresponds to the acronym of Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, a cultural area that was put into operation in 2008 in a building promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife and designed by architects Jacques Herzog
The Teatro Guimerá is a building located in the central street of Ángel Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife). Dedicated, among other functions, to the theatrical performances, it is, today, the oldest theater in the Canary Islands, opening in 1851. Until the inauguration of the Tenerife Auditorium, in 2003, it was the headquarters of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.
The Contemporary Art Room is located in the House of Culture of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Parque de la Granja.
As part of the CajaCanarias Foundation, the CajaCanarias Cultural Space is an arts and interpretation center located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in Patriotism Square # 1.
