1. Museo de Naturaleza y Arqueología

Located in one of the most prominent buildings of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA) formerly known as Museum of Nature and Man, in what used to be the old Civil Hospital of Our Lady of the Forsaken, which dates from 1745 and that a major remodeling in the 19th century left it with the current appearance .

The facade of the Museum stands out because it is a clear example of the neoclassical architecture of the Canarian archipelago, this made the building declared Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Monument in 1983.

The importance of the museum is vital, in its facilities you can get to know deeply the natural wealth that all the islands of the Canarian archipelago harbor. You can also find a lot of information and a collection about Guanche culture, which was the aboriginal people that inhabited the island of Tenerife before the European conquerors arrived there.

Of what is exhibited in the museum, perhaps the most interesting part is that dedicated to archeology and the Aboriginal Funeral World, as well as a large number of non-mummified Guanche skulls, located in a large showcase. Also worth mentioning are the Guanche pottery vessels and Roman amphoras along with other archaeological artifacts such as the Piedra Zanata.
