In the town of Agaete you can also find a beautiful botanical garden where you can enjoy some of the most exotic plants you can see on the island. Also known as Huerto de las Flores, it is made up of more than 100 tropical species imported from different points of the globe.
The Botanical Garden of Agaete was enjoyed by famous poets and artists such as Saulon Torón, Alonso Quesada or Tomás Morales, whose visits were used to find the inspiration while walking and meditating in its corners.
The Botanical Garden or Garden of Flowers have species of flora such as guiro, macadamia, mamey or the camphor tree. The Huerto de las Flores began to be built in the 19th century thanks to the well-known family Armas, which started planting seeds brought from the most exotic places in the world, especially America.
The Garden of flowers was recently renovated and since then has a vertical garden with a plant that brings a new air to this charming place.
