1. A Casa José Saramago

The Nobel Prize for Literature, Portuguese José Saramago, spent the last stage of his life in Lanzarote. Saramago created a great link with the island, some of his most important novels, such as Essay on Blindness he wrote there. To commemorate the famous writer, the house in which he lived until he died has become a museum where it is possible to know more in depth the Portuguese author.

The house was built as a result of the need of the Saramago-Del Río and Pérez-Figares-Del Río families, they were not only accomplices in the project but also in life.

The house has become a museum and lovers of the Portuguese writer have the opportunity to know much more about it, you can access the personal library of Saramago and know every corner of the house in which he spent the last 18 years and defined himself as " A House Made of Books".

It is worth noting the house, in addition to the library, the lounge that leads to a garden that was the resting place of the author, you can also enter the bedroom, see the galleries with paintings by artists such as Miquel Ramirez.
