1. El Esqueleto

Already part of the daily life of the inhabitants of Matanza de Acentejo, a rickety construction, without walls, whose structure is that, the closest thing to a skeleton. The Skeleton of the Slaughter is located in the area known as Puntillo del Sol, is one of the places in the municipalities with impressive views and from where you can see the island of La Palma.

The Skeleton is practically hidden in a ravine behind several tall buildings. A rather controversial place to hide the residents a stunning view of the sea and asking for years to demolish, but there it goes. It was a hotel project that was made in the 70s and that did not end up being located in a protected area, it receives the name of Costa Acentejo Protected Landscape, two buildings of 15 plants in a state of ruin .

2. Iglesia El Salvador

The Church or Parish of El Salvador is located in the municipality of La Matanza de Acentejo in the northern part of the island of Tenerife . The temple is of recent construction, of the twentieth century and has received several reforms, perhaps the most important came after in 1936 a group of anarchists set fire to the church. After this incident the church was razed and the current one was built on the ruins of the previous one. It was named parish in 1965 by the bishop Antonio Carroneiro.

Although the temple was rebuilt, it is more than 400 years old, almost more than the town of La Matanza since the church was first built and then the municipality was built, back in 1615.

The most outstanding image that can be found in the facilities is the size of El Salvador, San José and Virgen del Rosario made by Mariano Benllure.

3. Ermita de San Antonio Abad

One of the oldest religious temples on the island of Tenerife is La Matanza de Acentejo is the Hermitage of San Antonio Abad . Some experts believe that the image of San Antonio in the Hermitage was the first to arrive on the island after the conquest.

The Hermitage of San Antonio Abad was built at the order of one of the first scribes of the archipelago, the La Laguna and the Cabildo, Antón Vallejo . The Escribano promised to build a hermitage in the municipality if they left victorious or survived the battle of La Matanza that finally gave the town its name.

4. Mirador de la Vica

5. Sitio Etnológico el Lagar de la Calle Real nº 198

The Lagar of the Calle Real is located in a rectangular construction of about 50 square meters in the municipality of La Matanza de Acentejo. The walls of the building are made of basalt stone blocks interspersed by numerous smaller stones that are joined by lime and mud mortar as well as pieces of tiles that give the building its own air of Canarian architecture.

Both the interior and exterior walls lack plastering for the stone to stand out. The building is accessed through a double leaf door

Once inside the building you can see the winery, which is fully restored and in an enviable state, with a beam of about 5 meters of tea long. Also the spindle and the shell, made of white wood, the keys or pins, in addition to other elements.

The stone is covered with mortar and lime, on the other hand there is the tub, the lagareta and all the parts of an old wine press.

The Acentejo ravine, also called the San Antonio ravine, is a ravine located on the northern slope of the island of Tenerife -Canarias, Spain-, between the municipalities of La Matanza and La Victoria de Acentejo.
The place has historical importance as a scene of confrontations during the conquest of the island, which has earned it a Historic Site.
