The Matrix Parish of Our Lady of Remedies is a Catholic church that is located in full Llanos de Aridane on the island of La Palma. The church began to be built in the sixteenth century, in the southern part of Barranco de las Angustias, the work of the first Castilian settlers who came to La Palma.

The main image found in the Parish of Our Lady of Remedies is that of the Virgin herself, a sixteenth-century Flemish carving. Other elements of great value that can be found in the facilities of the church is the set of Santa Ana and the Virgin Girl, also the altarpiece of the Nazareno, the one of the Lord of the Garden and that of the Virgin of Rule and the image of the Christ of Health.

The church is an outstanding example of Mudejar architecture, the situation invites you to visit it because it is in the historic center of Llanos de Aridane in the area you could also see the Plaza de España, Plaza Elías Santos Abreu, the new Clock, the museum of sacred art or the local town hall.

In the town of Llanos de Aridane there is another of the town's outstanding temples, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Angustias. This hermitage is located in the ravine that separates the jurisdiction of the Llanos de Aridane and Tijarafe. Its construction is simple, it is formed by a single nave and dates from the 16th century and it is considered to be one of the first religious constructions made by the Spanish conquistadors who came to the island of La Palma. It is worth mentioning the main altarpiece of the baroque style temple and the magnificent polychrome Flemish carving with iconography of La Piedad that holds his dead son is believed to have reached the island between 1515 and 1522. The altarpiece is of triple niche and was installed in the presbytery while the virgin was enthroned in the great central niche.

Nuestra Señora de las Angustias is the Honorary Mayoress of the municipality of Los Llanos and is one of the most revered images of the island of La Palma

In the Hermitage of Las Angustias was where the Jesuit Father Ignacio de Azevedo celebrated his last Mass leaving in the chalice the bite of his teeth to have a revelation as he sank the Blood of Christ in his martyrdom.
