1. Lago Martiánez
Swimming Pools Complex

The Lago Martiánez is an aquatic complex located in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) in the area of Martiánez, which is composed of different pools and a large central artificial lake. In total, the leisure complex has 100,000 m2. in which the swimming pools are linked with gardens, restoration areas and hammocks, a design in which the volcanic stone so characteristic of the north of the island has special relevance.

Located in what were formerly the "Llanos de Martiánez", an area of beaches and puddles, the design came from the hand of the well-known Lanzarote architect César Manrique.

2. Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia

The Matrix Parish of Our Lady of the Rock of France is the main church of Puerto de la Cruz. Located in the center of the city, it houses some of the most venerated images in the city, such as the Virgen del Carmen of Puerto de la Cruz and the Great Power of God. It is formed by three naves that are separated from each other by Tuscan columns, it stands out externally by the central tower that it has in the front and that was built later to the rest of the temple.

3. Mirador de la Paz

The Mirador de la Paz is one of the best views of the entire coastline of Puerto de la Cruz. Located in the residential neighborhood of La Paz, in what is the area of Los Acantilados, Ladera and Cuevas de Martiánez, from it you can see both the Martiánez beach and the complete touristic of the Lakes. In addition you can see the entire coastal horizon in the direction of Santa Úrsula, and the Costa del Acentejo.

In the vicinity there are several tourist attractions, such as the Hermitage of San Amaro or the bust of Agatha Christie, who spent some time in this area.

4. Castillo San Felipe

The Castillo de San Felipe is at the beginning of the Playa Jardín complex, in what is the mouth of the San Felipe gully, west of Puerto de la Cruz.


 

In ancient times, this fortress was raised as one of the four that were to defend the island from pirate attacks. Started to build in the year 1599, it was finished 5 years later. It is colonial style and made of masonry.


 

Declared a Historic Artistic Monument in 1949, today it is used as a cultural space for different events.
