About Mariposario del Drago
Icod de los Vinos has one of the most picturesque places you can visit on the island of Tenerife, it's the Mariposario del Drago. It is a kind of theme park dedicated exclusively to butterflies and where it is possible to walk among more than 800 different butterflies from the most exotic corners of the world. Places as picturesque as Philippines, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Belize or Kenya, where they are bred in captivity.
In the Mariposario del Drago it is possible to see how these invertebrates are born, how they reproduce or how they live. The life expectancy of these insects is usually about 2 or 3 weeks so it is possible to find new species at each visit.
