The Playa de Las Canteras, located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is considered one of the best urban beaches in all Europe. The city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has some monuments that are privileged witnesses of the passage of the history of the archipelago, one of them is the Castillo de la Luz or also known as Fortaleza de Las Isletas. The Castillo de La Luz is located on the busy street of Juan Rejón in the heart of the La Isleta neighborhood, bordering the Puerto de La Luz. The fort was built in 1494 when the island was incorporated into the Crown of Castile and the third Governor Alonso Fajardo was given the order to erect the castle . The first objective of Castillo de la Luz was to serve as a defensive fortress against continuous pirate attacks. The Castillo de la Luz was built on a wooden fort made by Captain Juan Rejón. It was the first defensive structure of the island of Gran Canaria and despite its historical importance it was abandoned practically until 1969 when it was decided to restore it by adding new elements, an outside pit, arches, etc. The castle is currently used as a cultural center and has been declared Artistic Historical Monument due to its importance for the history of the archipelago.

Benito Pérez Galdós was a novelist, dramatist, chronicler and politician who was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias and who best represents the realist novel of the 19th century. The writer lived on the island until he was 19 years old when he moved to Madrid. As a tribute to this illustrious citizen of Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, the house museum that bears his name was opened in a traditional 19th century house in the Vegueta district. The building has all the characteristics of domestic architecture of the nineteenth century, its distribution follows the traditional model around two central courtyards, maintaining both the structure and the original materials, although some modifications were made to turn it into a museum. In the Casa-Museo Pérez Galdós there is a permanent exhibition about the writer, the different rooms are conceived as a well-documented recreation of the domestic and family environments in which life passed from Pérez-Galdós. Distributed by its salts you can see different pieces of furniture, works of art, photographs, many decorative objects, musical instruments and a long list of elements that describe the everyday environment of the writer in the 19th century.

The Pérez Galdós Theater is the main theatrical venue of the Spanish city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, permanent headquarters of the Opera Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Alfredo Kraus. It is located southeast of the neighborhood of Triana, near the sea, on the left margin of the mouth of the Guiniguada ravine. It is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and, after the comprehensive renovation completed in 2007, one of the most modern theaters in Spain.

The Cathedral of Las Palmas is one of the most emblematic buildings in the capital of Gran Canaria, it is also called the Cathedral of Santa Ana. The importance of the Barrio de Vegueta of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is due to the fact that it is the founding nucleus of the capital of Gran Canaria. History tells that in 1478 the troops of Juan Rejón erected the Real de las Palmas which was the name given to the palm trees that were located in this place. Vegueta was the first Castilian site located in the Atlantic, it is also a historic place because according to the writings from here the Corona de Castilla began the conquest of the Canarian archipelago. The name of Vegueta comes from the vega that extended around the Real de Las Palmas, initially having the name of Vegueta of Santa Ana. Calle Mayor de Triana is the most commercial and touristic street in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Located in the historic center of the Gran Canaria capital, the origins of the Triana district go back to 1478, when Juan Rejón, captain of the Castilian Navy named by the Catholic Kings for the conquest of the Canary Islands, he disembarked in the area of La Isleta, north of the capital, from where he came down with his troops (from the lower Andalusia) to what was then the Barranco de Guiniguada

Una de las construcciones militares subterráneas más grandes de Canarias es esta red de tuneles de unos 7000 metros cuadrados situados debajo de un antiguo cuartel en la localidad de Tamaraceite. El objetivo era tener una base naval en las islas por los intereses de España ante una expansión por África apoyados por los aliados.
