1. Museo Casa Roja

The Red House Museum is one of the most emblematic buildings of the Villa de Mazo, dates from the beginning of the 20th century and was painted and decorated by Luis "El Tora". The Red House Museum was commissioned to build in 1911 by Leopoldo Pérez Díaz, a famous businessman who lived in Venezuela. In the 70s the German Jürgen Fischer acquired it and converted the building into a hotel and it is when it begins to know with the current name: Red House.

After a while the current museum was acquired by the Mazo City Council and between 1994 and 1996 it carried out restoration works until it was given the current appearance, which turns out to be the one in its moment was the original.

Today the Red House Museum is divided into two floors, one of which houses the Corpus Divulgatory Center while the second There is the Embroidery Museum.

The Corpus Divulgatory Center has documents, illustrations, photographs and other elements that refer to the Corpus festivity.

For its part, the Embroidery Museum is on the top floor and an interesting variety of this artisan modality is shown.

2. Ceramica El Molino

The town of Mazo in La Palma has an interesting place to visit, the Pottery Mill. It is an ethnographic group that highlights the windmill, considered the best preserved of the island being also a model that has been exclusive to La Palma. It receives the name of Sistema Ortega, which was the one that invented the mechanism used in this mill, there are only about 10 different scattered around the island, in Breña Alta, Garafía, Puntagorda and Puntallana.

At present, the old mill is part of a Ceramic Workshop where reproductions of pieces of Benahoarite ceramics are worked. It is possible to visit the interior of the mill, take a tour and know what was the operation of this mill.

It is possible to see how the clay works the ceramic artisans and see how they make the pieces of the Benahoarite ceramics. It is also possible to visit an interesting garden of native flora that is in the surroundings of the building.

3. Parque Arqueologico de Belmaco

Villa de Mazo keeps one of the most important pre-Hispanic groups on the island of La Palma, it is known as Belmaco Archaeological Park . It is the first archaeological site that was discovered in Canarias and is formed by an interesting station of geometric rock engravings and has 4 panels in which you can see mainly spirals, concentric circles and meandriforms. It was here that the first petroglyphs were found in the Canary Islands in the 18th century.

The caves that can be seen in the Archaeological Park of Belmaco have some great conditions to be able to be enabled and even at the time it was occupied permanently by the benahoritas.

According to some studies, it has been shown that it served as a room for the captains of the canton of Tigalate, two brothers known for Juguiro and Garhagua. It has also been discovered that the caves served as a burial site.

The Archaeological Park of Belmaco keeps many other surprises as it has been related to these caves as a magic-religious place where rituals were performed, such as invoking rain in times of drought.
