In Villa de Mazo the Parish Church of San Blas or Church of San Blas is located. The temple is located in the historical helmet of the municipality and it is arrived at through a steep paved road that communicates the parish with the town.

In its origins the parish was a hermitage that was built in 1512, centuries later it is extended with two more ships and that gives shape to the building that is currently known. The church of San Blas has a clear Mudejar style and within its walls is the central mahogany altarpiece, created under the baroque style and which is undoubtedly one of the most valuable elements of the church.

You can also see within the parish of San Blas an interesting set of Flemish images dating from the sixteenth century and among which stands out how could it be otherwise the size of the San Blas pattern.

In the vicinity of the Parish Church of San Blas is also very interesting, nearby is the parish house that is the home of the parish priest who was recently restored and stands out for the value of his style and antiquity.

3. Zona Arqueológica Tigalate Hondo

Bordering the Tigalate ravine in the municipality of Mazo there are caves of natural formation that in ancient times served for the aborigines of the island to settle, it is the well-known as Ruins of Tigalate Hondo Archaeological Zone.

According to the experts, the natural caves are formed by a longest volcanic tube on the island of La Palma, with about 2000 meters traveled. The undoubted highlight of the site are the rock engravings, made by chopping the rock, the theme shown in these engravings are basically geometric and alphabetic motifs.

It is divided into a part where there are two caves that were inhabited by aborigines and the area of the engravings, with concentric circles, spirals and simple curvilinear. These motifs are made by chopping the stone and are in two stone blocks located in the same channel of the ravine and inside the caboco cave.

The rock engravings located in the Tigalate Hondo deposit were declared Assets of Cultural Interest in 1985. It is undoubtedly one of the most interesting places that can be find on the island of La Palma.
