The Mirador de Chipeque is not only a place reserved for residents in Tenerife, but visitors have one of the most beautiful views in this place of the whole island. Chipeque is close to other viewpoints such as La Tarta I and II or the Montaña de Limón viewpoint.

The fastest way to get there is through the La Esperanza road that gives access to Las Canadas National Park del Teide or downloading from Teide.

From m irador you can see part of the northern slope of Tenerife, in the territory of Santa Úrsula, from Punta del Hidalgo to Buenavista going through the Valle de la Orotava of course all under the gaze of the imposing Teide On clear days you can see perfectly the island of La Palma and when not the sea of clouds.

The natural environment of the Mirador de Chipeque is dominated by Canarian pine and is located on the back of La Esperanza which receives the name of Protected Landscape of Las Lagunetas.

2. Convento de San Francisco
Historical buildings

The old convent of San Francisco, which is in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos, is located in the historic center of the town. The building was declared Asset of Cultural Interest in 2002 and currently houses the dependencies of the municipal library.

The convent was founded in 1641 and although it was baptized as the convent of the Espíritu Santo, it was popularly known as the convent of San Francisco and was the second It was built in Icod.

Inside the temple you can see the Capilla de los Dolores, with a marked Portuguese Rococo style and was built in the 18th century.

It was one of the few convents of the Canary Islands that did not suffer fire, looting or destruction or what is a monument where you can see the value of traditional Canarian architecture.

3. Mirador de La Quinta

The viewpoint is located in the area known as Barranco de la Fortuna at the end of the La Quinta urbanization and is registered in the Miradores of the Cabildo de Tenerife as of scenic interest.

From the Mirador de la Quinta you have an impressive view of the entire coastline of the Valle de la Orotava until the Puerto de the Cross and a supreme view of Teide.

5. Iglesia de San Agustín

The Church of San Agustín is a temple belonging to the population of Icod de los Vinos in Tenerife, it is declared of interest patrimonial and is located in the urban center of the municipality. The church of San Agustín belonged to the first convent that was founded in Icod by the order of Los Agustinos. The temple dates from the year 1585 and you can see the two family stands on either side of the entrance door, something unique and exclusive in the temples of the Canarian archipelago. There are two altarpieces, one of Baroque style and another of Rococo style that can be seen inside the church, although not at the head of the temple.

The Church of San Agustín is not a normal temple, in addition to these two altarpieces located on both sides we must speak of two arches built in bricks, the reason why they were used These materials may be due to the lack of resources of the Augustinian monks or the presence of Portuguese in the area who were quite used to working with this type of building materials.

6. Zona Paleontológica Playa del Bunker-El Guincho

The El Guincho Paleontological Zone is located on the beach of Bunker in the beach area of the Americas in Arona, on the island from Tenerie. The importance of the site has made it declared B of Interest Culture with the category of Paleontological Zone.

The paleontological site is a deposit of the quaternary, in it you can find mollusks typical of tropical areas that were formed in a warmer time than the current one about 100,000 years ago during the last interglacial

Geologically speaking, the marine deposit is situated in the Upper Pleistocene, corresponding to the Neoterrinian-Holocene.

The site has two paleontological levels, in the lower one you can see abundant remains of Patella conadei, along with other gastropods like Thais Haemastoma, encompassed in the calcareous matrix. In the upper level cemented by calcareous algae, in which you can see testimonies of warm fauna.

The paleontological zone Playa del Bunker-El Guincho is formed by a stretch of low coast formed by a raised beach of very cemented ridges and sand. Above them, some remains of a fossil dune system that occupies the upper part of the formation appear sporadically. A place that keeps a lot of information about the formation of the island.

7. Teatro Pérez Galdós

The Pérez Galdós Theater is the main theatrical venue of the Spanish city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, permanent headquarters of the Opera Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Alfredo Kraus.
It is located southeast of the neighborhood of Triana, near the sea, on the left margin of the mouth of the Guiniguada ravine. It is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and, after the comprehensive renovation completed in 2007, one of the most modern theaters in Spain.

8. Monasterio El Cister

9. Cueva de Achbinico
Caves

The Cueva de Achbinico was after the conquest the first Christian sanctuary of the Canary Islands in importance and religious diffusion and historically it was also the first Marian sanctuary that existed in the archipelago. This cave dedicated to the Virgin of Candelaria (Patron of the Canary Islands) and to San Blas, is located in Candelaria (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) just behind the Basilica of Our Lady of the Candlemas. In this cave, the Guanches worshiped this Marian image after Christianization. As a result, various archaeological tools from the Guanche era have appeared there, which is why the cave is also a place of great archaeological importance. It has the category of Asset of Cultural Interest, integrated in the Sanctuary of Candelaria.

10. Castillo de La Luz

The city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has some monuments that are privileged witnesses of the passage of the history of the archipelago, one of them is the Castillo de la Luz or also known as Fortaleza de Las Isletas.

The Castillo de La Luz is located on the busy street of Juan Rejón in the heart of the La Isleta neighborhood, bordering the Puerto de La Luz. The fort was built in 1494 when the island was incorporated into the Crown of Castile and the third Governor Alonso Fajardo was given the order to erect the castle . The first objective of Castillo de la Luz was to serve as a defensive fortress against continuous pirate attacks.

The Castillo de la Luz was built on a wooden fort made by Captain Juan Rejón. It was the first defensive structure of the island of Gran Canaria and despite its historical importance it was abandoned practically until 1969 when it was decided to restore it by adding new elements, an outside pit, arches, etc.

The castle is currently used as a cultural center and has been declared Artistic Historical Monument due to its importance for the history of the archipelago.
