The Punta Cumplida Lighthouse is on the island of La Palma in the northern part, on the coast of the municipality of Barlovento, It has dimensions with a height of 63 meters and 34 square meters of height of the support. The tower of the lighthouse is truncated cone-shaped in masonry with double gallery and with the lantern painted in white that is attached to the building on one floor.
The Faro de Punta completed came into operation in 1867, was one of the most emblematic 19th century civil engineering works on the island. In 2011, it was the first Europe lighthouse to use LED lamps, reaching up to 24 nautical miles. The old lantern was dismantled and it is possible to see it in the urban area of the municipality of Barlovento, close to the town hall and the church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
One of the most interesting things about the Punta Cumplida Lighthouse is that part of the facilities were enabled as tourist accommodation and it is possible to spend nights in it, surrounded by a wonderful landscape and an incredible ocean view.
In Barlovento is the parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary, a temple that is not known with certainty the exact date of its construction but according to some baptismal acts round the year 1581. In 1710 work began on the main altarpiece that was made with Baroque style and is formed by two floors, three streets and six niches in which you can see the artistic flow in La Palma
The parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary is distributed in a single nave, is about 35 meters long and 9 wide. The temple is divided into two parts, one is the nave that goes from the part where the arch is located to the feet and the head, Throughout history the building has had several performances as the one of 1678 in the that the temple was rebuilt and enlarged, years later in 1777 the part of the choir was reformed and the ceilings were also raised.
In the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary you can also see several images, of course there is the image of the Virgin of the Rosary but there is also the Virgin of the Carmen and the American Christ of century XVII.
In the middle Barranco Seco in the Vueltas de San Juanito, within the municipality of Puntallana is the interesting Mirador de San Juanito. From this point it is possible to have a spectacular view of part of the coast of the island of La Palma, in addition to the coast you can also see the peaks and slopes of the neighboring Villa de Mazo, Las Breñas and Santa Cruz de La Palma.
The viewpoint can be reached through the northern highway LP-1, after passing through the population center of Mirca you will find the Vueltas de San Juanito , bordering on Barranco Seco.
In the southern part of the island of La Palma the Roque Teneguía is located, on the southwestern slope of the San Antonio volcano belongs to the municipality of Fuencaliente.
The Roque de Teneguía has a height of 400 meters above sea level and is known as one of the most important geological formations of the municipality. One of the most important elements that has the Roque de Teneguía are the Auarite rock engravings that is located in the area. These vestiges give a good account of the interesting history that surrounds not only the Fuencaliente area, but the entire island of La Palma. It can also observe petroglyphs, (symbolic designs that have been engraved on the surface layer of the rock) spiral or labyrinth and serpentine lines that some experts attribute to the action of water.
In addition to this prehistoric element, the Roque de Teneguía is also interesting and has a certain botanical importance, here the Cabezuela or Cetaurea Junonia.
El Roque is a very old phonolite structure about 600,000 years old and has a characteristic pale yellow color. It is curious that you can see remains of the last eruption that took place in 1971.
Among the multitude of viewpoints that can be found on the island of La Palma, we can find the Mirador El Time. This viewpoint is located in the southern part of the municipality of Tijarafe at an approximate altitude of 594 meters above sea level. From this point of interest you can have incredible views of the entire Valley of Aridane, it is also possible to spot the La Caldera de Taburiente National Park, one of the prides of the island of La Palma. On clear days with little fog from the viewpoint it is possible to see also the island of El Hierro.
Al Mirador El Time can be reached via the LP-1 road through the southern entrance of Tijarafe after ascending the northern wall of the Barranco de Las Angustias.
